I spent a similar amount on a 286 back in 1987 with 2 floppies one 5 1/4" and one 3 1/2"
1 meg. memory and a 40 Meg. HD. I thought it would last for ever. Included in that price was an 80 column dot matrix printer. dos could only handle 32 meg so I had 2 partitions. I could even play games on it in colour.

If you spent 1200 on a new PC every year for the next 4 years you would end up with a better PC 4 years from now and have spent the same amount of money. Furthermore you would also recoup more of your money by selling the old ones. You are a salespersons dream if you're that easily talked into spending money on something like this.

Dude, I spent 1k on my build 4 years ago, I'm still running everything max resolution and graphics. With the exception of a video card upgrade everything else is the same. The new card cost me $400, so we'll say total build cost $1400.
You're going overkill with way to many things. It's like buying a sports car to drive your kids to school everyday. Sure you can gloat to others how much faster your car is but you'll never be able to drive that fast anyways.
Trust me, its much more affordable to upgrade a 1k build OR build a new one 3 years down the road than to spend over 4k right now.

You will pay to much and get a sort of ok system.
Scrap the sata drives and replace them with SSD's don't be cheap. Yes Lian Li makes nice cases but they are way over priced. Yeah they are aluminum but who gives a sh*t. Most cases at least top brands have some aluminum and more than enough fans. Thermaltake or even Silverstone.
12 gigs of ram? Really? Unless you are running Photoshop or Maya full bore you will never use that much ram. Over kill. And so is windows 7 ultimate. I'm pretty sure ( I could be wrong) that you just picked it because you think its the best. Might be if you were going to use it for its full intention. Plus if your system poops out there is no recover in ultimate. (no system restore)
Ok ... here is what I just built. No video cards because I have those already.
I am a media editor so the ram I have makes sense...sort of.
1 Solid state to run the OS only and a 2tb for everything else. Plus I have 6Tb in the system I just retired.

Maybe it looks that way but i spent a great deal of time looking at reviews and recommendations givien to me i wanted a pc that would last me a good while and would let me game out at max resultion without problems, that was fast and run great on most aspects. well i could probably bring this thing up to 7000 -8000 $ if i wanted to but well this is pushing my bu'dget already i didnt just take the most expensive thing i reaserched every part consuted with a couple a guys i know who work with computers and spent large amounts of time switching some little things replacing an item with another ... etc
